Where does the time go? We're well over half way through the 3-year Random Acts scheme and so far we have produced 45 amazing, brilliant and beautiful short arts films. We've worked with more than 70 talented and inspirational young artists and seen them grow in confidence and ability. We've laughed (at The Legend of Rawry), we've cried (at The Legend of Rawry), we've been speechless with the sheer volume of creativity and energy from our young talent. And we've also drunk A LOT of tea and eaten A LOT of biscuits.
We're delighted that additional Arts Council support means that we are also able to develop the audience for the films beyond the 'digital space' (although nearly all are on Channel 4's website and we've had a couple on the actual Tellybox which is always nice) and we'll be showcasing the films and the artists at screenings and festivals right across the UK between now and March 2018.
Our young artists also told us that they wanted to meet each other, network with industry professionals and find out more about the wonderful world of being a creative freelancer (and surviving!) so the Arts Council are also supporting us to run Creative Career Surgeries and networking events for all our alumni throughout the year.
We still have another 13 months to go and another 27 films to deliver (gulp..) but we CANNOT wait to see what bold, creative and astonishing ideas come through from the amazing bright young talent we have found in the Midlands
